Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Credentials: MBA from INSEAD, B.A. in Hospitality Management from Cornell University, 20+ years in luxury hotel development with Aman Resorts and Four Seasons in Southeast Asia. Member of the Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI).
Bio: Budi is the visionary behind Private Island Indonesia. After two decades of developing and managing some of the world’s most iconic luxury properties, he saw an opportunity to create a service that offered not just luxury, but true, unadulterated privacy. His deep connections within Indonesia’s business and government circles, combined with an uncompromising standard for quality, guide the company’s strategy and ethos. Budi personally oversees the final selection of every island in our portfolio.
Dewi Lestari
Head of Operations & Logistics
Credentials: Certified PADI Divemaster, Former Operations Manager at a leading Indonesian private jet charter, 15 years experience in UHNW travel logistics and superyacht provisioning.
Bio: Dewi is the logistical mastermind who ensures every journey is seamless. From coordinating private jet arrivals at Ngurah Rai (DPS) or Komodo (LBJ) airports to managing helicopter transfers and provisioning Phinisi yachts for multi-week expeditions, her attention to detail is legendary. Dewi has an intricate knowledge of Indonesia’s aviation and maritime infrastructure, liaising directly with AirNav Indonesia for flight planning and port authorities (KSOP) for clearances, guaranteeing smooth and efficient travel for our clients.
Arief Rahman, S.H., M.Kn.
Lead Counsel, Leasehold & Maritime Law
Credentials: Master of Notary (M.Kn.) from Universitas Indonesia, Specialist in Indonesian Agrarian Law (Hukum Agraria) and Foreign Investment Law (PMA). Licensed advocate with PERADI (Indonesian Advocates Association).
Bio: Arief is our in-house legal authority, responsible for the rigorous due diligence that underpins every property we represent. He navigates the complexities of Indonesian property titles, ensuring that every leasehold agreement is secure, transparent, and fully compliant with the regulations set by the National Land Agency (BPN) and the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). His expertise provides our clients with the critical peace of mind required for significant leasehold transactions.
Dr. Rina Wulandari
Head of Conservation & Sustainability
Credentials: Ph.D. in Marine Biology from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), former field researcher for The Nature Conservancy Indonesia’s Coral Triangle Program.
Bio: Dr. Rina leads our commitment to responsible tourism. She developed our proprietary Ecological Integrity Score, a key part of our island evaluation methodology. Rina assesses the health of marine ecosystems surrounding our partner islands, develops our sustainability protocols (including waste management and coral-safe practices), and manages our community benefit programs. She works closely with organizations like WWF Indonesia and local communities to ensure our presence contributes positively to the preservation of Indonesia’s natural heritage.
Isabelle Chen
Director of Client Relations (UHNW)
Credentials: B.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics, 10 years experience in private banking and family office advisory in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Bio: Isabelle is the primary point of contact for our clients. Her background in serving UHNW individuals has given her a profound understanding of the expectations for privacy, discretion, and personalized service. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Indonesia, she excels at understanding a client’s unique vision and translating it into a perfectly executed itinerary. Isabelle ensures that from the first inquiry to the final departure, every interaction is handled with sophistication and care.
